How to Live test a page on Google Search Console

In this guide we will help you know how to live test a page on Google Search console.

How can this be helpful to you? It is usually helpful to know what Google is reading from that page to find out the reason for an error or any indexing issue.

There is one requirement for this to work: the URL of the site you are testing should be verified on Google Search Console, and you should be testing it from that property only.

Follow the steps to live test on the search console, assuming you are already logged in:-

  • Once you are on the Search Console Dashboard in the header, there is an input bar. Place the URL you want to Live Test there and hit enter on your keyboard.

  • Google will take a few seconds to process it, and then will show you the result of the URL you inspected.
  • There, you will find a button on the top right that says Test Live URL. Click it and wait for a few seconds for Google to process it.
  • Then Google will provide you with information about whether it was able to process your link or not, and other details, and you can also check what Google is able to read from that page, which might be helpful in finding the issues on that page.
  • You can click on the View Tested page to know what Google is seeing when testing your URL.
